Domaine des Tourelles White is a white wine from Lebanon that is both floral and fresh. Initially, the wine from Domaine des Tourelles seems to be very mineral on the nose. However, the bouquet quickly turns into an aromatic fruit bomb.
In this regard, a scent of apricots, ripe mangoes, pineapple, pears and lychees with a hint of jasmine quickly emerges after one starts getting closer to the glas. A really nice smell to be exact! This kind of mix also seems to be a speciality of the Domaine des Tourelles! Especially, since the oenologist Fauzi Issa has thus planted numerous flowers in between the vines. This is possibly the reason why his wines have such a floral aromas.
Further, the wines develop a round but also tangy taste on the palate. While the Muscat grape variety are responsible for the floral notes of the bouquet, the Chardonnay rather supports the texture and roundness of the palate. Furthermore, the Viognier gifts the wine the exotic notes. Among them are nots such as peach, passion fruit, pineapple, white stone fruit and a captivating honey note. And last but not least, there is the indigenous Obeidi grape, which keeps the wine strangely fresh and crisp. Accordingly, the winery really made a great choice of grape varieties!
This Lebanese wine is a perfect food companion to seafood, tapas as well as cold starters. Of course, the Domaine des Tourelles White is also suitable as solo wine at summer events such as a barbecue!
In this case, the vines grow in vineyards near the third largest town Zahle. This place is situated 1050 meters above sea level in the middle of the Bekaa Valley. There are only limestone and clay soils, which are irrigated throughout all year because of the snowmelt. In this respect, Lebanon enjoys an ideal microclimate. Moreover, that is why Lebanon is known as the cradle of wine culture. Most importantly, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully sorted.
Similar to its siblings Domaine des Tourelles Rose and Red, this wine is also fermented in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts.
