Arak El Rif Red Label Premium Reserve is a very special arak from Lebanon. This one is characterized above all by tradition and the velvety taste. The El Khazen family and their distillery has really achieved a miracle with this arak! Especially after all the experience they have gained over the years. Today, however, it is the fifth generation that preserves the precious and special recipe.

How does the Arak El Rif Red Label Premium Reserve taste?

First of all, this Lebanese anise schnapps convinces with an elegant herbal scent of fennel and mint. In addition, the fresh bouquet with then also immediately rounds off the typical licorice. Accordingly, a nice welcome for such a strong drink. On the palate, the arak is soft, light. Because the alcohol is barely noticeable, this drop also seems dangerously quaffable. This is also followed by the traditional flavors of forest herbs and licorice. A nice really nice and refreshing adventure with round flavors!

Accordingly, the Arak El Rif Red Label Premium Reserve also goes really well with raw meat, grilled dishes or spicy fish. Nevertheless, you can also drink this one well simply solo.

Why is this Lebanese anise schnapps so special?

First of all, the speciality is composed of four different types of eau-de-vie from Cognac. These are carefully mixed and burned after importation. This is followed by the blending of seven different anise seeds and the third and final distillation. Therefore, a little more complex than the standard production of arak.

And last but not least, during the distillation process, this arak flows through supernaturally large clay cisterns. This also a unique and innovative technique to perfect the refinement before storing in clay jugs.

Also here the owners only use the best grapes, of course similar as in the production of Lebanese wine.

About the distillery El Rif?

Finally a little about the Lebanese distillery El Rif. Michel El Khazen founded the distillery in 1828, thus forming the oldest distillery in Lebanon. Similar to its siblings (Green Label, Blue Label and Double Red), the recipe is faithfully preserved to be passed on to the next generations at the right time.
