Eraz White from the Lebanese winery Latourba is a really pleasant and accessible white wine. Initially, a bright yellow colour with a green cloak surprises the eye. A beautiful sight, which also immediately motivates you to put your nose into the glas.
At first, a floral but also intense scent of peach, citrus and exotic fruits such as mangoes pours into the nose. Accordingly, a truly enticing bouquet awakens the senses. It is definitely the grape variety Sauvignon Blanc which dominates the overall bouquet. Especially since it makes the wine truly blossom.
Furthermore, this velvety but also crisp Lebanese wine convinces with its fruitiness on the palate with its crisp, exotic and charming taste of white stone fruits, pears, tropical fruits and nuts.
And thanks to the grape variety Albaino, an accessible as well as harmonious acidic cushion accompanies a good structure with plenty of grip. Just the right combination to hype up the wine again in the finish. And last but not least, this wine also appears very lively and playful. The perfect white wine to fresh fish, seafood but also white meat.
The vines of this wine, like all other vines, grow in the west of the Bekaa Plain. There are the ideal weather conditions for exactly these grapes. Firstly, the vineyards are located up to 1000 meters above sea level and are covered by snow for up to three months a year. Secondly, the grapes enjoy maximum hours of sunshine. And then the annual snowmelt irrigates the nutrient-rich clay and limestone soils. Accordingly, this makes the perfect microclimate for the cultivation of high quality grapes. Even the famous arak is made from them nowadays. And exactly these grapes were already used by the Romans to supply their empire with their wine.
The winery Latourba has really made an effort to authentically reflect the soils and the weather here, as well as in the two siblings, Eraz Rosé and Eraz Red. Therefore, the winemaker was worked as honestly and naturally as possible.
