Arak du Marje is a harmonious Lebanese anise schnapps from the Les Vignes du Marje estate. This brandy has not existed on the Lebanese arak market for too long and is therefore one of the newcomers. Nevertheless, this brandy belongs to the exclusive arak varieties of Lebanon.

How does the Arak du Marje taste

At first, this anise brandy seems very smooth and approachable. Similar to most arak varieties, the aroma of licorice dominates here as well. In addition, this Lebanese arak then unfolds aromas of forest herbs as well as fennel. A pleasant and harmonious aroma, which make the arak smooth and easy. In addition aromas of plants and herbs are reflected and give the liquor a pleasant freshness and structure.

Furthermore, the freshness also tempts everyone to drink more of this anise schnapps. Therefore, it is a perfect companion for warm summer nights, barbecues and philosophical rounds. But best of all, of course, this arak goes well with fresh and spicy dishes such as salads, raw meat, seafood, cooked shellfish with lemon and olive oil, and much more. Thus, a perfect food companion for the Mediterranean cuisine!

How is the Arak produced?

The winery Les Vignes du Marje here really made a small masterpiece with this arak. Especially since they produce the ripe as well as aromatic Lebanese Arak solely from pure grape alcohol. These come from the Lebanese Bekaa and enjoy a unique microclimate! In addition, they use only the finest anise seed on order to bring out the flavors harmoniously but also clearly. But the key to quality lies not only in the raw materials but also in the unique distillation. Therefore, the grape alcohol is first distilled three times. This is followed by a fourth and final distillation, to which the distillery then adds the high-quality anise seeds.

How to drink this arak?

The first thing to do is to pour the arak into the glass. Ideally, this is already chilled. This is then followed by the same or double amount of water, which makes the schnapps turn white. Finally, the ice cubes are added. Done!
